A lot can be said about the gap between youth culture and today’s politics, however Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn attempted to engage the youth by meeting with grime royalty, JME. You’ll be well aware of Boy Better Know founder Jamie Adenuga. The grime MC & FIFA enthusiast never shies away from being vocal about any subject. Except politics. Following an exchange on twitter – along with a number of other artists including Stromzy, Novelist & Akala – the pair met at Spoke, a cafe in Islington where Corbyn has been MP since 1983.
Chatting about music, housing and education, JME explains why the youth voting is more important than ever. Check out the video in full below, and if you haven’t already, go & register to vote.
